Welcome to this week’s podcast where Jason and I are joined by the developer of the brilliant Windows 10 Philips Hue app called hueDynamic. Darrell Marjoram explains why he developed the app, the features in it including the Cortana integration and he talks about developing UWP apps for the Microsoft ecosystem. The app has more features than the official apps from Philips who so far have ignored Windows, and Darrell has a plans for even more features. It’s not just be that loves the app, Microsoft have nominated the app for app of the year!

It is really great to talk to developer so enthusiastic about developing for the Windows

  1. Hi Ian,

Just pushed another update with photo ambiences. I use what I call OmniScene technology, meaning the scenes are stored on the bridge, but are independent of a set of lights or room. This means you only have to create an ambience once, but can then apply it to any of your lights. You can even swap the colours around by applying the ambience more than once. The ambience will appear on all instances of hueDynamic linked to the bridge – no OneDrive required.

    Enjoy!
