Owners of Surface Pro 3 devices this week had an update that fixes the battery woes and yesterday Surface Pro 4 owners also received a firmware update. The update for Surface Pro 4 owners is a driver for the system BIOS rather than an actual new BIOS firmware that the Surface Pro 3 received to fix the battery issues.
[Update: Having installed the update it does in fact update the UEFI so could be a battery prevention problem fix]
It could be a fix to prevent battery issues like the ones that affected the Surface Pro 3 from happening, so far Microsoft haven’t posted details of the update.
