Today Microsoft have announced the official release date for Windows 10. As rumoured Windows 10 will be available on the 29th of July. Windows 10 will be available as a free upgrade from July 29th and available on new machines from the same date. Windows 10 will be a free upgrade for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.
Microsoft have started rolling out a registration process on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 machines with a notification showing up in next to the clock where you can register your details for the free upgrade.
The July date is for Windows PCs, Windows Phone is somewhat behind the PC development. Build 10130 for PCs was released for insiders on Friday is a lot more polished than previous releases but there are still plenty of issues with it, especially with upgrades so Microsoft have a lot of work to do to make the July 29th date.
