One of my favourite little Windows tablets is the Toshiba Encore 8 an 8 inch Windows tablet with an Atom processor and this week at CES Toshiba have announce a new version of the Encore with an active Wacom pen. The Toshiba Encore 2 Write comes in 10.1 and 8 inch editions and is powered again by an Intel Atom processor and it comes with one year Office 365 Personal so you get Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for the device. The Write has active Wacom high precision pen called TruPen that you could use with apps like OneNote and Toshiba say has a fine tip on it that is extremely accurate. The Encore 2 Write 8 inch will cost $349.99 and $399.99 for the 10.1 inch.
Also announced was the Satellite Click Mini 2-in-1 which has an 8.9 HD screen and detachable keyboard and 16 hours battery life. As with the Encore it is powered by an Atom processor and comes with a one year Office 365 Personal. The Mini will be on sale in Europe in March starting at 299 Euros.
The Encore 2 Write would make a great note taking device.
