Back at BUILD Microsoft showed off a new lock screen app for Windows Phone 8.1 that brings a new look to the lock screen in Windows Phone. The app is now available in beta form and is ready for downloading. With the app you can pick from six new lock screen designs and each one displays the date, time and notifications along like missed calls and calendar events with an animation. You can also pick your own background images that it will cycle through or you can set it pick images from Bing each day.

I tried it on my Lumia 1520 and it is a nice app, it works as described and is a nice addition to Windows Phone 8.1.

You can find the app in the Windows Phone Store.
