Flipboard for Windows 8.1 launched

Regular listeners of our podcast will have heard me go on (and on) about the one app that is missing from my ideal Windows 8 ecosystem which is Flipboard. Flipboard is an app that creates a personal magazine based on your own interests using Fliboard’s own content and most importantly your own content selecting which can include Twitter, Facebook,Google+,RSS, Flickr, YouTube and much more. I use it for reading my Twitter and RSS feeds and it’s a great visual way of catching up on your news feeds.

Yesterday Flipboard for the Windows Store was released, the app has all the features that make it great on the iPad and Android. Plus it has a live tile displaying up to date content, which works great as a large title. It works great in landscape or portrait mode and you can snap it off to the side.

It’s a great app even if you just use it for catching up on your Twitter feed, it’s free and available now in the Windows Store.

It is the most popular way to catch up on the news you care about, read stories from around the world and browse the articles, videos and photos friends are sharing. Use the Discover button to customize your Flipboard with iconic sources like The New York Times, PEOPLE magazine, Fast Company and many more. You can also connect your social networks like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Share what you are reading and enjoy updates from friends all in one place.
