A couple of days ago HP announced its new Chromebook and yesterday Acer revealed its updated C7 Chromebook. The new C720 Chromebook has a Hazwell based 1.4GHz Intel Celeron processor which Acer say will be faster and improve the battery life (5 hours improved to 8.5 hours). The new version is thinner and has an anti-glare display running at same 1366×768 display but it does gain an SSD drive (16GB), 4GB of RAM up from 2GB and there is a USB3 port.

Earlier this year I reviewed the C7 and while it did feel a little on the budget side I did like the Chromebook and the improved specs especially the battery life are welcome improvements. Just a thought are Chromebooks the new Netbooks?
