Double Twist is an Android music and podcast player app that syncs up with a PC based app via WiFi. Before Google Play Music became my main media player Double Twist was the app I used when I moved from the iPhone/iTunes world.
The latest update of the app adds full AirPlay support for Android devices running on 4.1 or higher. So with the app you would be able to send your music to an AirPlay equipped device, it also works with DLNA/UPnP so you get the best of both words. It even supports metadata and artwork on the Apple TV.
The app is free and then there are in-app purchases for the pro version and radio streaming. You can find the app in the Google Player Store.
