ITV Player for Android updated, now works on more than just Samsung devices

ITV Player on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7

ITV have updated the Android version of the ITV Player app and quietly opened up access to more devices. Back in May ITV agreed a deal with Samsung making the app exclusive to Samsung Android devices and while the release notes still say its Samsung only I installed it on my Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 today. In May Samsung said they had exclusivity until the end of August so maybe we are seeing the lifting of restrictions a few days early. With the app you can watch catchup TV from ITV, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4 and CITV over 3G/4G or WiFi.

The app is free from the Google Play Store.

What’s New
