BBC iPlayer on Windows Phone
A few weeks ago the BBC announced it was working on a BBC iPlayer app for Windows Phone 8 and it’s now available in the Windows Phone store. The app has access to on demand content from the BBC and works over 3G and Wifi. You can favourite episodes, browser by category and you can listen to BBC Radio in the background while you are using the phone for something else.

I gave it a try and it works ok, there are no download options and I found if I started watching a show, did something else with the phone and then returned to the app via the live tile the app would reload completely so you have to navigate back to your TV show. Other than that it works pretty well.

The app is free from the Windows Phone store, how about a Windows 8 app now?

Watch and listen to BBC TV and radio programmes from the last 7 days on BBC iPlayer.

Features include:

– On demand content over Wi-Fi and 3G.

– Add shows to your favourites so new episodes are quick to find for you to enjoy later.

– Ability to listen to BBC Radio in the background.

– Browse programmes by category, schedule, featured and most popular.
