Microsoft took the beta tag off the desktop Windows Phone app and now they have updated the Windows Store version of the app. The Windows 8 and Windows RT app now lets you browse documents and add them to the phone, you can open files that are stored on the phone with other programs and they have made it easier to add different type of files to your phone.
