The VLC team have put out the 11th beta of VLC for Android. This build fixes bugs from the last release and includes the performance and feature updates from previous versions. VLC is an open source media player that will play many video formats including MKV.
You can find the app in the Google Play Store
What’s in this version:
This is the eleventh beta of VLC for Android.
0.0.11 is a fixing release for crashes occurring in 0.0.9.
0.0.9 introduced new audio and video output methods, and fixed many bugs.
The audio uses OpenSL ES, which should help improve audio sync.
A preference setting allows you to use the former method, AudioTrack (Java).
For video, you can select YV12 output: it should be faster, if it works 🙂
For older devices, 16-bit output should increase display speed.
But remember, this is still a beta 😉
