PressPlay Video for Windows RT

I am always on the lookout for good apps for my Surface RT and I came across a new video app that looks handy. PressPlay for the Windows Store works with Windows 8 and Windows RT and will play back video files in various formats from local storage, remove able storage and from the Windows HomeGroup.

PressPlay has some nice features and some that other video plays don’t have. It have a split pane for video playback so you can preview video files while browsing for videos, it has touch screen gestures for the volume, supports captions, it has video thumbnails and when you try and play a video file that is in a format that the device doesn’t support (like MKV) it automatically transcodes it to a compatible format before playing.

The app is free and available from the Windows Store and if you come across any other video or music apps please let me know.
