The built in news app in Windows is a well designed and a nice way of catching up on the latest news. This morning I got an update to the app and it has some nice improvements including new navigation controls, videos and offline reading.
Hopefully Microsoft can keep improving the built in Windows 8/RT apps, the mail app in particular needs some work.

@isdixon really good design! Shame Microsoft didn’t bother to update the metro design of Media Center in Windows 8.
