HTC Windows Phones gets offline navigation

HTC have released Locations app with offline map features for HTC Windows Phones. I just installed the app and there are a whole range of maps available to download.  With the app you get turn by turn navigation, either by foot or by car with a metro UI.

I gave it a quick try an seems to work well, it’s not as good as Google Navigation on my Android phone but it could be handy to have.

Are you sure this is offline navigation and not just preloaded maps?

Offline navigation means that the phone works as a GPS device without any internet traffic, and my understanding is that all phones currently use some amount of data in order to provide a GPS service.
