Plex have released a new beta of the Plex Media Server which includes DLNA support and supports Windows Phone 7.  The Media Server includes transcoding which makes it great for playing content on DLNA devices and supports Silverlight Smooth Streaming which Windows Phone users.  So you can play bookmarked web content on any DNLA enabled device, play shared media from your friends and Plex can remux files so that devices that can’t play the file natively will get a transcoded version of the file.

You can give it a try by download the 0.9.6.0 version from the Plex download page and read about the details from Plex’s blog

The result (besides a lingering scent of cologne and flowers) is the world’s best DLNA server. No, really. I’m not prone to hyperbole. This DLNA server can do things that no other DLNA server on the planet can do. And the coolest part is that with this new release, all the content served up by your Plex Media Server is now accessible by an insane amount of new devices, including ones that may already be in your homes (your LG washing machine doesn’t have DLNA? Send it back!).
