The developers of the Windows Phone TV guide app called vuPlan.tv are looking to integrate their app with Windows Media Center. The Media Center integration will enable sharing of viewing habits and enable you to see viewing trends.  They are looking for beta testers for the Media Center integration which looks like is a small server application.

We have an exciting new product to extend and expand Windows Media Center out across the interwebs and into your mobile phones. Well, Windows Phone 7, at this stage. And while we’re at it, we’re also expanding your Media Center machines to share viewing habits and then let you slice and dice your TV guide according to what’s hot amongst the girls, the boys, the young and old and even where you live …roughly.

In the UK today, vuPlan.tv is available as a TV guide on Windows Phone that everyone can use. However, the cool version with all the remote control goodness still needs some wrinkles ironing out, and that’s why we need your help.

At the PC end of things sits a simple app (one click install) that sits down in the system tray and synchs with our services. It wakes your machine up to do this, so you can sleep the machine as usual. You don’t need to modify router settings, or firewall rules. Just click, install, then run the phone app or login to the (very work-in-progress) website.

Check out www.vuplan.tv and watch a short video showing the MC client http://vimeo.com/26761289, then email feedback[at_sign]vuplan.tv if you think you’d be interested.

Due to licensing of the guide data, this offer is open to UK-based users only.
