RIM say Playbook sales ‘below expectations’

Not exactly the shock tech news of the week but following on from HP’s Touchpad disaster RIM have reviled that they only shipped 200,000 of its Playbook tablets and most of them remain unsold. RIM said sales where “well below expectations” and they were going to offering “special incentives for companies and rebates for consumers”. Its not exactly unexpected with the Playback not even having a native email app and priced at the same price as the iPad but an email client is on the way along as is Android support which may broaden its appeal . They are going to have to seriously undercut the iPad if they want to sell them to consumers.  Maybe a £89 price tag would ship some stock, it worked for HP

I think I would rather save my money for a Windows 8 tablet!
