When Blackgold announced the BGT3630 many people were disappointed that it was only a single dvb-s2 and singlw dvb-t2 tuner as they were hoping for a dual tuner model. Well it looks like a dual tuner is due soon in the form of the BGT3600. The new tuner is due June/July and is compatible with UK Freeview and Freesat HD and has dual tuners for DVB-S2 and DVB-T2 making it one of the best tuners for UK Windows Media Center users

Have just listened to TDL 309 where you are questioning if this is the same as the recent single DVB-T2, single DVB-S2 tuner, but it is not. In paragraph 2 of the quote it says ‘dual digital terrestrial’ and ‘dual digital satellite’ and towards the bottom it says ‘The product has been architected to allow simultaneous management of four broadcast program streams’. Also, loking at the image there are clearly 2 satellite F type connectors – required for 2 tuners and a single terrestrial connector, all that’s needed for 2 tuners. Having been very disappointed with the previous tuner I am now very happy again as I can finally achieve my goal of being able to record up to 4 HD channnels in my iXL media centre using only one card and don’t have to mess about with USB tuners.
