Last week I wrote about a Windows Media Center addin that brings Airplay to Media Center, the addin has been downloaded over 1200 times so its Airplay integration is obviously a hot topic.

There is new Airplay Airport application for Windows that has a slightly different slant than the Media Center version. This addin which is hosted on Sourceforge.net is a sits in the system tray and acts as an Airplay target. I found it worked great with Music, with video I only got audio playback and it doesn’t work with pictures at all . So in that respect it complements the Media Center version of the app as that works best with pictures and videos so combining the two application may be the way forward, I found both could run at the same time without any issues.

For audio playback it works great so I think I am going to be installing both addins on my machines.

The application and the source code are available here and the Media Center Airplay app is available at MadeforMediaCenter.com

EDIT I should say this is not an Airplay emulator, it’s an Airport emulator so it designed for audio playback as a remote speaker

So far this only works with x86

airplay

Thanks to Anthony for the link
