My first press conference of CES is the Nvidia one and I was looking forward to seeing what they they were going to show

The Nvidia CEO talked about the new era of mobile computing and how important mobile devices are.

Next they announced the Tegra 2 chip which is going to be powering many smart phones and tablets. They showed off a new LG phone which they call a super phone, it’s an Android phone with a Tegra 2 chip and 1080p output via HDMI, it looked really snappy and could output video at 1080p. For a game demo they showed Angry Birds which went down well. They spent a lot of time talking about Flash and how competitors phones could not do Flash (without mentioning Apple) I think it was overdone a little, I am not a big Flash fan and hope HTML 5 will replace it soon

For gaming they showed a multiplayer game being played on a PC, PS3 and the LG phone, showing how games can work on the Tegra 2

They talked about using Skype with HD video on Tegra but bandwidth issues prevented them from showing a demo

It looks like Nvidia are really betting on mobile and the Tegra 2 is there platform that should take them forward

He announced that Nvidia’s Project Denver, a Arm based CPU and hinted it could run Windows via a ARM based version of Windows that could be announced today
