With the release of iOS 4.2 for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch Apple have introduced Airplay with the Apple TV. With Airplay you can start watching a video on an iPad/iPhone and then transfer viewing to one of the new generation Apple TVs. While its not as flexible of DLNA it work well and you can stream music, one missing feature is the ability to view a picture on the iPad and then display the picture on the Apple TV so lets hope that feature gets added soon As Chris points out pictures does work

You can view pictures from the iPad to the Apple TV via AirPlay, I haven’t got one myself but have heard many talking about it
