This is a tip I keep meaning to write up and as this situation just happened to me again I thought it was about time I did.
If Media Center hangs Loading during TV Setup Data there are two possible solutions I know of
First try pressing Windows Key R to get a command prompt and enter:
C:\Windows\ehome\mcupdate.exe -manual -nogc -p
This will start the Media Center Update service if stopped
If that still does not fix it and particularly if you have change region try going to Rmeove Programs in Control Panel and remove PlayReady. Restart Media Center and TV Setup. PlayReady ill be reinstalled as part of this setup. Once it is reinstalled TV Setup Data should start loading if it doesn’t then repeat the first step.
