It would be interesting to read about what other Media Center users are using as enhancements and plug-ins to Windows7 Media Center, listing your items here can have many beniifits, for new users they can find out what is working and what is not, for yourself to look back if a re-install should ever have to be undertaken and for us all to see what we might or might not have missed as a worthy addition to our systems

i will get the ball rolling and list what is currently installed on my Windows7 Home Premium dedicated Media Center machine

i am a UK Media Center User

Sky Player ( very stable )

Sharks007 Windows7 Codecs ( must have for ripped Blue Ray )

My Channel Logos ( stable )

Media Browser ( Stable )

Heatwave weather app version 1.3 ( Not always accurate but stable )

Vista Audio Changer ( Must have for room audio switching )

Tunerfree MCE ( stable must have )

Freeview TV card ( occasional signal issues but mainly stable )

All of the above are installed and used daily with no issues which is what i need, stability brings ease of use, reliability and time to actually use Media Center rather than repair it which in turn means an easy life

So what are you using ??

  1. I run Windows 7 in the UK and for plugins I install:

Media Browser (but don’t use it very often)
    iPlayer plugin
YAMMM (truely brilliant metadata collection tool for 7MC Movie Library)

I don’t mess around with codecs as the built in ones work perfectly fine for me.

  2. My Movies 3
    Any DVD
    Heatwave
    Tunerfree MCE
    Medi Center Studio
    My channel logos
    Total Media Theatre 3
    DVD Shrink
    Avermedia Hypr X tv card
    TMT extreme
    DVB Link
    Air Mouse

  3. Hi Im in the U.K and use

Tuner Free MCE ( Must have but hate the way it works with Flash)

    My Movies 3

    Slysoft Any DVD

    Blackgold 6 in 1 DVBS/ DVBT tuner

Gyration RF Media Center Remote control and airmouse.

Stability is generally O.K but still get the occasional unknown sluggish behaviour.
