Microsoft have launched an online store (for UK and German) that is selling Office and Windows and what is interesting about it is that it offers downloadable versions of Office and Windows as well as DVD versions. As far as I know it’s the first time Windows and Office have been offered as a download. The prices seem to be the close to Amazon UK, for example on Amazon Windows Vista Home Premium Upgrade is £67.97 where as on Microsoft’s new site its £79.99 and Amazon is for the DVD version. I think it’s a step in the right direction for Microsoft to offer products digitally but I guess they can’t be seen to be undercutting there partners.

Would you buy direct for download only?
