I use Orb all the time to stream content from Windows Media Center to my various devices, the combination of Orb and Webguide means I have access to all my content and guide data anywhere on the web. Last week Orb launched a native iPhone client so you can watch live and recorded TV on an iPhone or iPod touch, so no need to buy your shows from iTunes 🙂

Orb have put together a video showing how to get it working on a jailbroke iPhone

  1. doesn’t work for me. the video streams but the audio is just rapic clicking – like static. i tried changing codecs and it didnt help. i contacted orb support and they didnt seem to have any good answers. i posted on howardforums and they also didnt seem to have any real answers. so until i can get that worked out it is useless for me. if it actually worked though it woudl be a great app!

  2. Orb is pretty cool. I’ve been using it with my Archos 605 wifi and it works well both UPNP or over the web.
The one thing that is a bit of a drag is if you have it on your media center machine and the media center starts to record a scheduled program then Orb is interrupted. Unless there is a work around for this that I am unaware of.
