It looks like Charlie Owen has taken onboard some of the comments about the disconnectedness (is that a real word?) of some of Microsoft’s consumer products. Eg no Recorded TV integration in the V1 Zunes or no Media Center integration with Windows Home Server.

In his post Does This Cover The Scenarios it looks like Charlie is trying to put together some resources to connect the pieces together. I think this is great idea and something that should have been done from day one but at least its being looked at now. The first question Charlie asks is whether he has covered all the scenarios and combinations of devices we have. If you have ever struggled to get Recorded TV working with Windows Home server you will appreciate the effort. So go to Charlie’s blog and make your you usage is covered.

I’m going to head up an effort here at Microsoft between the Media Center, XBox and Zune teams to give you a set of resources which help you put our products together and begin to realize the ‘Connected Home’ dream. It will probably start out as a whitepaper — it *might* include things like scripts or tools — but don’t hold me to the latter
