Fairlight Collection Vol2: Guitar, Bass and Drums for Korg Wavestate

This is volume two of my Fairlight Collection for the Korg Wavestate (there is a Modwave version also available). Volume one focused on strings and vocals; this collection focuses on guitars, bass, and drums.

The CMI Fairlight was a digital synthesizer, sequencer, and sampler from Australia. Its samples became synonymous with 1980s pop music, featuring instantly recognizable sounds used by artists like Thomas Dolby, Peter Gabriel, Jan Hammer, Kate Bush, and many more.

This collection for the Korg Wavestate features original Fairlight IIx samples and includes classic sounds. There are crunchy guitars, clean chorus guitars, tons of basses, and a full drum kit.

The ZIP file contains 45 performances and samples. To add them to your Korg Wavestate, download the ZIP file, unzip it, and use the Korg Sample Editor to transfer them to your Wavestate, Wavestate mkII, Wavestate Module, or Wavestate Native.

Included in the ZIP are the Korg Wavestate Performance, Korg Sample Editor Multisamples, Sample Bank, and the WAV files needed for the collection. Unzip the file and import the “FairlightVol2.wsbundle” from your Wavestate Librarian.

If you already have a sample bank open, launch the Korg Sample Editor and import the multisamples from the “Fairlight Samples V1/Multisamples” folder. If you don’t have a sample bank yet, you can open my “Fairlight Samples V2.korgbank” in the Korg Sample Editor and transfer it to your Wavestate.

For those with Wavestate Native, set your Wavestate’s user sample folder to the location containing my “FairlightVol2.Korgcompiledbank” file.

In the video, I demonstrate the sounds and explain how to import them into your Wavestate.
