The Windows 11 2023 update has been in testing for the past few months, and we finally have a release date for the upgrade. During Microsoft’s Surface and AI event today, Microsoft announced that the Windows 11 2023 Update (which is an update to the current 22H2 platform)  will be released on September 26th. Initially, it will be available in the release preview channel and will then be pushed via the monthly update cycle in Windows Update.

The update includes several significant features, such as an updated File Explorer, cloud backup, and Windows Copilot, which serves as its AI assistant for Windows. Unlike previous updates, this one isn’t a major platform overhaul with a 4GB download requirement. Instead, it’s a small cumulative upgrade available via Windows Update, making the installation process much quicker.
