In this video I unbox, setup and try out the Twinkly Squares smart LED wall panel starter kit. The kit contains 6 LED panels each of which has 64 addressable LEDs. So that means you can create pixel artwork and animated gifs on the wall mounted light panels.
The kit is easy to assemble and everything you need is provided, there are cables for connecting the panels, plastic clips to attach the panels and a USB C power supply. The panels can be connected any way and this gives you flexibility to arrange them however you want.
The Squares uses your home wifi (or direct wifi / Bluetooth if your prefer) and is controlled by an iOS or Android app. With the app you can select from a range of colours or patterns and you can create your own drawing in the app or by importing an animated Gif.
You can create playlists of your favourite patterns and control it from smart home systems like Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Apple HomeKit.
As you will see in the video, it’s simple to set up and get started and you can create some interesting effects. The starter kit costs £249 direct from Twinkly, there is an extension kit available for £99.99 which gives you three more panels.
