In this video I setup and test a range of smart home devices from SwitchBot. With SwitchBot you can turn any switch into a smart switch using the button pressing bot. You can turn on and off light switches, amplifiers, heaters, or anything with a switch.
You can setup the bot to do a single press or have it in on/off mode for something like a light switch.
They also have a combined thermometer and hygrometer that you can view the details on your phone. You can also setup alerts when the temperature or humidity go outside your requested range.
All the SwitchBot devices link with home assistances like Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri and IFTTT. So, you can ask Alexa to turn on the devices and link with Alexa routines. You could setup an IFTTT applet to turn on a heater when the temperature drops below a certain device or have the switches be part of a scene, for example to turn on all your home cinema devices, close your curtains and then turn on the coffee machine even if they are not smart devices.
The system is really simple and quick to setup and works well. In the video I setup the system and get it working on an old light switch.
