If you have ever had a flood or a water leak you will know how expensive they can be. D-Link’s WiFi water sensor can aler you when there is a water leak so you can act fast before you have a flood. It could be burst pipe, a faulty washing machine or a defrosting freezer and an alert will pop up on your phone wherever or whenever there is a leak.

The kit comes with a water sensor on a 1.8m cable, the WiFi unit and two AA batteries. You can place the sensor in a location at risk from water and then wall mount the WiFi unit out of the way. D-Link say the batteries should last for two years.

As you can see in video the setup is simple. You setup the device with your home wifi via mydlink app on your phone (Android and iOS) and then get an alerts on your phone. The WiFi unit also has a 90db siren that alerts when it detects water. You can clear the alerts directly from your phone.

The D-Link Wifi Water Leak sensor costs £39.99 from Amazon UK.
