With the latest Windows Insider builds Microsoft are adding haptic feedback for SteamVR in Windows Mixed Reality. This means games from SteamVR will have haptic feedback when playing with a Windows Mixed Reality. The change is built into the OS so can’t be via the SteamVR bridge as they normally do. This means that the update will be delivered in Redstone 4 which is due soon and if you want to test it now you will need to have the latest Windows Insider build (17101 or later).

Haptic feedback for SteamVR is now available to Windows Insiders running the latest Windows flight (build 17101 or newer)! If you’d like to try a preview of the latest fixes and features for Windows Mixed Reality (like haptics!), we encourage you to join Windows Insiders[insider.windows.com]. We’re continuing to iterate on and improve our haptic support, and we’re eager to hear your feedback. We’ve already got some additional fixes to haptics in the pipeline that will come out in upcoming Windows Insider builds. Please this discussion thread to tell us which games work well and which ones could use some additional tuning.
While we generally like to enable as many new features as possible directly through the Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR bridge, haptic feedback required tuning directly in the OS, meaning the Windows Insider flight is required. If you choose not to join Windows Insiders, don’t worry. This feature will be available to everyone in the next release of Windows.
