In this video I am going to look at how you can control your Christmas lights with Amazon Alexa. Using D-Link smart plugs which cost around £26, an Amazon Echo Dot at £36 I can say “Alexa, turn on Christmas tree lights” which will turn on my tree lights. I can say “Alexa, turn on outside lights” and it will fire up my outside Christmas lights. In the video I also show you can group together smart plugs and lights into one command. So I can say “Alexa, Christmas time” and it will turn on my tree lights, the outside lights and turn on my Philips Hue lights to a set of Christmas colours. I can say “Alexa, Christmas lights off” and it will shut them all down.
