Microsoft have announced that the Timeline feature shown off a Build earlier this year will be available in the next Windows 10 Redstone 4 build for Windows Insiders. Timeline enables you to jump back in time to find files, websites and apps where you left off working. You should be able to scroll back through your activity history and do things like carry on working on a document or continue watching a movie.

Also announced on the Microsoft blog that they are going to trying out some new features for selected insiders, so you may get to see a new feature and some people won’t. It means they can A-B test feature and then look at the feedback before pushing it to the general release of Windows. Microsoft are going to try this approach with a new feature codenamed Sets. Here is how Microsoft describe Sets:

With Sets, what belongs together stays together — making it easier and faster to create and be productive. The concept behind this experience is to make sure that everything related to your task: relevant webpages, research documents, necessary files and applications, is connected and available to you in one click. As Office, Windows and Edge become more integrated to create a seamless experience, so you can get back to what’s important and be productive, recapturing that moment, saving time — we believe that’s the true value of Sets. And with Timeline, it’ll be even easier to go back and find the Set you were working on.

Hopefully we will have a new build soon and I will take a look at Timeline in my next hands on video.
