Google have announced they are releasing Google Home in the UK April 6th. Google’s Amazon Echo rival will cost £129 and comes to the UK almost a year after Google released the smart speaker in the US. Google say its services have been optimised for the UK including content from the BBC and Sky. For controlling the smart home Google Home integrates with Nest, Philips Hue, Samsung SmartThings and Wemo which is small set of devices than Amazon supports (eg no Hive support).

Google Home is available to pre-order now from Google comes with a choice of colour bases. Despite me using an Android phone I don’t think Google Home is for me at the moment, I have multiple Amazon Dots setup so I can control my home from multiple rooms and Google Home doesn’t support many of the devices and services I use. If you are giving one a try let us know.
