Intel has added more details to its Windows Holographic platform augmented reality development “Project Alloy”. According to winbuzzer.com Intel’s CEO Brian Krzanich OEMS will create Project Alloy based headsets which will be on sale in the final quarter of 2017. Intel’s platform uses Windows Holographics and is untethered so no PC is required, using Intel RealSense depth-sensing camera it can mix computer generated objects into the real word so you have mixed reality like Hololens but a reduced cost.

OEMS like Lenovo are already creating tethered headsets for less than $400 so Microsoft Holographics platform will scale from low cost devices right the way to the Hololens development kits.
