Microsoft to introduce new gaming features in Windows 10

Microsoft have detailed new gaming features coming to the Windows 10 Creators Update. Starting with the next Insider Update which is probably due today Windows 10 will have built in Beam streaming via the Windows gaming bar:

On Beam, streams have under one second of delay; using our brand new streaming protocol dubbed “FTL”, you can interact with livestreams as if you were in the same room as the caster. What’s more, any stream can incorporate simple interactive features such as sound boards. Starting later this week on Windows 10 PCs, you can start Beam broadcasts by pulling up the Game bar — Windows key + G. And coming soon on Xbox One, you can also begin streaming directly from inside the Guide. The ability to manage your Beam broadcasts and interact with fellow gamers on chat will appear as overlays.

There will be a new gaming section in Windows Settings where you control the game bar, gameDVR and broadcasting settings.

There is a new gaming mode that optimizes the PC for gaming which Microsoft say they will detail the changes later. I imagine will set the processor priority to the game, reduce background task and suppress notification.

Hopefully we will have a new Windows 10 build later today and then I can look at the changes in my hands on video.
