A few weeks ago I set myself a challenge of developing a new UWP app for Windows 10, so I came up with the idea of an app to keep to date with the latest Windows Insider builds. The idea of the app is to have one place to find out the latest fast ring Windows Insider build and to see to the hands on videos. The app also shows you the last eight Fast Ring builds for PC and Mobile, you can view the build information from Microsoft and watch the hands on videos from TDL.
You can also read the latest blog posts from The Digital Lifestyle.com with a nice easy reader and you will get alerts when new builds are released.
In the initial release background notifications are not enabled but in a future release the app will alert you when Microsoft announce a new build even with the app closed.
The app is available for PC and Mobile and is completely free from the Windows Store.
The UI is split into three sections via a pivot: There is a hands-on video of the selected build, there is the announcement from Microsoft and the latest headlines from TDL. On the left hand side is a button to switch builds so you can look at older builds and a refresh button that checked for a new announcement. When the app finds a new build there is a notification in Action Center alerting you of the build number.
