Users of My Movies for Windows and the Home and Essentials Server Solution versions are being asked by the My Movies developers to update to the last version (5.22 build 2). In an email sent to registered users the developers say they have identified a problem with the previous version that was causing problems with the update services. If you are running 5.20 or about you should get the latest version and then your install will continue to work as normal.

My Movies is an excellent system for manging and viewing your movie and TV collection and was one of the very first addins for Windows Media Center.

Here are the details from My Movies:

Please upgrade My Movies for Windows

During the past days our servers have had trouble keeping up with the load from thousands of clients upgrading to the just released 2.20 versions of our mobile applications.

First of all, we would like to apologize to those of you who have in some way been affected by this.
In the process, we have unfortunately identified that the main cause of the pressure comes from a problematic implementation in My Movies for Windows version 5.20 and above, and to resolve this, we have released a My Movies for Windows and a My Movies Home and Essentials Server Solution 5.22 (Build 2).

To ensure continued operation on your client(s) on Windows, we ask that you on the earliest convenient moment upgrade your client(s) to this new version.

The situation is currently resolved by a call limiter for these clients, which in pressure periods will affect the operation, and you may therefore see some problems – untimately it can be required that we in full block clients that have not been updated from using the service.
