With Windows 10 Anniversary Edition (code named Redstone) Microsoft introduced a new app called PC Connect which is a Miracast based screen mirroring technology. In previous Redstone builds only Mobile to PC sharing worked but in the latest build (14342) PC to PC sharing now works.

You run the PC Connect app on the host PC and then on the PC you want to transmit the screen of go to the Connect button in Action Center and it will show you a list of devices that you can cast your screen to, you can then select the device and the screen of one pc will be shown on the other one. Well that is the theory, so far with the current builds it is a bit hit and miss and works about 50% of the time. Hopefully by the time we get to the July release date it will work better.

With Lumia 950 or 950 XL you can use Continuum to make the PC a 2nd monitor for the phone which works really well.

In this video I take demonstrate PC Connect using a tablet, Surface Pro 3 and a Lumia 950 XL. The Surface and Encore 8 are running Windows 10 build 14342, the Lumia is running 10586.
