Today during the Build keynote Microsoft announced that the Redstone 1 release of Windows 10 will be called Windows 10 Anniversary Update and be free to Windows 10 users. The build will probably be more commonly known as 1607 with a July release date. Microsoft haven’t said if the free upgrade offer for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users will be extended, currently the offer expires this July.

The release will feature extensions in Microsoft Edge, new features for Cortana including tracking notifications and running as lock screen app. The Xbox One will also receive the update which will add Cortana and a unified app store to the Xbox One.
