Last night Microsoft released Windows 10 Mobile 10586.164 for Windows Insiders on the slow and preview rings. This could be the build that gets pushed out to Windows Phone 8.1 users and is only for phones running the Threshold 2 releases, and not the Redstone build that is available for Lumia 550/950/950 XL phones on the fast ring. If you are running Window 10 Mobile and in the fast ring on a device that didn’t ship with Windows 10 Mobile then you will need to switch to the slow or release preview rings to get the update.
The actual build doesn’t contain any new features and is almost identical to 10586.122 released last week but it does contain bug fixes and other updates that help with the Window 10 Mobile upgrade.
Hopefully it won’t be too long of the general rollout of Windows 10 Mobile for Windows Phone 8.1 users.
