Kodi has come a long way since it started life as Xbox Media Center, it has become one of the best media platforms not just for the 10 foot experience but also the last few years for use on touch devices. Today the Kodi team have announce replacements for the Confluence skin which has been the default since 2009.

Kodi have announced two new skins one optimised for the 10 foot experience and one dedicated for touch. The skin for the TV is called Estuary and has new widgets for recently added, in progress and random. Live TV has a favourite channels widget. All the elements of the UI have had an overhaul and there is a range of colour options to choose from.

The skin for touch is called Estouchy and is optimised for small screen touch devices while still offering all the Kodi features.

The new skins will be available in the new Kodi v17 (code named Krypton) which is currently in early stages of development.
