The Kodi team have published the release version of Kodi 16.0 Jarvis. Version 16 of system that was called XMBC focuses mainly on under the hooh improvements but there are a couple new features. There are improved to the event logging so you can view your systems events which will be very handy for tracking down problems with plugins etc.

There is a new long press option added for remote controls which will bring up the apps context menu, many of the new Android TVs don’t have context buttons so this is a welcome addition. Another new feature is non-linear stretching of 4:3 content to 16:9 in a way that doesn’t warp the content.

Other changes include automatic scanning of music files and improvements to the add-on manager.
