While many people seem to want to write Windows 10 on phones off it seems like nobody told HP. Today they have announced the Elite x3 a new business focused Window 10 phone with Continuum dock and laptop accessory. The phone has a 6 inch display running at 2560 x 2440, Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage with a MicroSD card slot. It has an iris scanner on the front and finger print sensor at the back for Windows Hello. The specs seem to be better than the 950 XL making it the top of the range in Windows 10 Mobile.

What makes the Elite x3 different is with its support of Continuum it is designed to be the only device you need. As well as HP offering a Desktop Dock which you can use with it a keyboard, mouse and monitor there is also a laptop looking extender so you can use the phone as a laptop and with Continuum still use the phone at the same time. The extender has a 12.5 inch display and weights 1000 grams.

Theoretically for someone out on the road it could be the only device they need but that is very dependent on Universal Windows apps offering the functionality business users require. No prices yet and I don’t expect it to be cheap.
