Over the weekend Microsoft released a beta of Messaging Skype beta for Windows 10 mobile, the new separated video and messaging app for Windows. Microsoft have removed the modern Skype app from Windows 10 for PCs and this new separated app will be in Windows 10 with the threshold 2 release of Windows 10.

The new app separates out Skypes messaging and calling features with the Messaging app handling Skype and SMS messages, the phone app can do voice calls and the new Skype video app handling video calls.

You can try the app for yourself on Windows 10 mobile by getting the app from the Windows Store.
