VLC is a great media player and works really well on Windows 10. The version for PC and tablets has been updated today and there is a new beta available for Windows 10 mobile. The PC version has an updated video player that has improved hardware decoding and an updated UI.

Version notes

In this update, we enabled TagLib, worked on the hardware decoding and several awesome features. The user interface has been updated to match the Windows 10 design, and hundreds of bugs are fixed.

For Windows 10 mobile there is a new beta version of VLC, this is available as a separate app to the non-beta version and will get updates and features before the standard version. There is one know issue for this release:

Playing videos without Hardware Acceleration may cause the app to crash. If this is the case for you, please go to Settings > Videos > Enable Hardware Acceleration and reboot the app.

You can find the phone version in the Windows Store along with the PC version which is also available in the Windows Store.
