Last year Elite Systems launched a successful Kickstarter campaign to bring back the classic computer of the 80’s the ZX Spectrum. The recreated Spectrum is a Bluetooth keyboard that pairs up with Elite Systems iOS and Android Spectrum apps. You can play original Spectrum games and even use Sinclair Basic on your device using an authentic keyboard.

At the Gadget Show Live this week I met up with Steve Wilcox from Elite and he showed me the recreated ZX Spectrum and the iOS app. I even got to write classic program in Sinclair Basic. More information at Elite Systems’ site and look out for a full review when I get my unit in a couple of months.

  1. I think it would be nice to recreate the Kempston interface, allowing to plug the the original joysticks (the Competition Pro was awesome). As an owner of the original ZX Spectrum, I didn’t play much with the keyboard.
