Xbox app on Windows 10

The Xbox app for Windows 10 has received a major update today as Microsoft add in features from the Xbox SmartGlass app which it is due to replace. In the app which is updated via the beta version of the Windows Store app (the grey icon) now has the ability to connect up to the Xbox One. This means that Xbox OneGuide and remote control features now work with the app so you can view your OneGuide EPG from the app and control the Xbox. I haven’t seen whether the live TV streaming features of the Xbox One Smartglass actually work so I will be giving it a try tonight.

Full list of changes:

  • Profile Improvements
  • Activity Feed Improvements
  • Better Windows Sizing
  • Browse OneGuide
  • Connect to Xbox One
  • Watch Popular Game Clips
  • Xbox One Remote Control

You can find the app in the beta Windows Store.
